I've been interested in moving picture since I was an undergraduate at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. My Photography senior thesis was an installation with multiple projections. (My Art History thesis was about the plague, but that's a tale for another time.) After graduating from college, I went on to work as Deputy Press Secretary of Digital Media in the Office of the Governor of Illinois. In that role, I created and edited video content using Premiere Pro every day.
Working in the Governor's Office, I realized I wanted to better understand how great film projects are created, so I pursued my MFA in Documentary Media from Northwestern University. Through the program, I further developed my skills in editing, documentary production, cinematography, sound design and color-grading.
